How to Control Cholesterol without Drugs

You may be asking, "Why such an emphasis on weight loss for this particular website?"  While this is not essentially a “weight loss” site, it was my participation in an effective weight loss program which helped tremendously in achieving a healthy weight, thus lowering my cholesterol levels. Here I will be sharing my weight loss journey and the program that I used to achieve success.

Weight loss may not be an issue for some people. However, for many people it is. According to the Center for Disease and Prevention (CDC), 2015-2016 statistics show that more than a third (39.8%) of adults in the U.S., 20 yrs. and older, are obese; the percentage of overweight adults in the same age group, including obesity is 71%.

In light of the previous information, many medical professionals and nutritionists agree that just a few added pounds of excess weight can be enough to contribute to high cholesterol. On the other hand, losing weight can help reduce high LDL cholesterol numbers.

Why Weight Loss?

As a result of my cholesterol becoming quite high and dealing with another issue, my medical professionals which consisted of my personal physician and gastroenterologist, concluded that I would benefit from a medical nutritional plan that had only been in our area for a few years.
